1. Overview
1.1 Objective
The programs are designed for students who wish to study in their field
of interest the program most suitable to them. The course programs are suitable
for students anywhere in the world and adaptable with coursework, fieldwork
and practical-work assignments to be suitable for the country and the needs
of the student. Where applicable, courses will be adapted for special needs
on topics, courses and areas not included in the course listings. This is
only possible if suitable textbooks are available and subjected to approval
from the Society. These programs are suitable for distance education, educational
or campus learning / study centers approved by the Society. At all times
the standard of education shall not be compromised and only the best most
comprehensive textbooks will be used.

Entry Requirements
- A
Senior School Leaving certificate/diploma
- Mature students with suitable experience
- Mature students and professionals with professional certifications, registrations
and professional
qualifications.
NOTE: Subjects require either competence
in Mathematics, Physics or Science, and Chemistry or
acceptable knowledge of these subjects. If the student is not on par with
these requirements, the
Society will prescribe additional work as a preliminary requirement before
the commencement of
the official coursework.

1.3
Exemptions
A:
Transfer credit previously earned academic credit
Students with completed courses, certificates, diplomas or degree courses
will be considered for
exemption. Partial exemption may be granted where applicable. Additional
coursework will be pre-
scribed to complete the courses in question to gain full credit for each
course where applicable.
B: Training and seminar certificates - which verify training and instruction
directly related to the
subject matter for specific course requirements.
C: Awards, honors and recognition In addition to achievement related
to skills, students may also
receive credit for the following:
- Awards or citations of achievement.
- Books, papers or manual, which have been written or edited by the
student.
- Occasions in which the student has been a lecturer, panelist, instructor
or the like.
- Professional affiliations or licenses certain areas of training
resulting in licenses or certification
are accepted.
NOTE: The Society will consider life-work
experience for exemption according to the usual rules and
requirements as set by the US Council for Higher Education (CHE) and the
Council for Experiential
Adult Learning (CAEL). Where required, students will be requested to sit
examinations or the Society
will prescribe additional work to enable the student to gain full credit
for a particular course.

Duration
No time limit is set but, as a guide, the usual duration for Graduate
Advanced Diploma Programs vary
from one to two years. For Campus
learning center students will receive specific instructions and time-
tables for the submission of work and assignments.

1.6 Method
of Assessment
Assignments,
Campus group projects, independent projects, examinations and independent
theses/projects. A pass mark of 80%
is required for assignments or fieldwork and a 50%
pass mark
for examinations.

1.7 Textbooks
Textbooks
are prescribed for each course. The Society will assist students with
the arrangement and
ordering of textbooks. An estimate will be given to students giving the
cost for the textbooks related to
his/her studies. Campus learning students will borrow textbooks from the
center through which they are
studying and will work independently or in-groups where applicable. Students
are responsible for taking
notes and the documentation of their work.

Diploma Award Rules and Regulations
The
Society award two distinct diploma types for the successful completion
of the course program as either undergraduate or postgraduate. The requirements
for each distinct program are listed separately.
The
Advanced Diploma is awarded upon the successful completion of the Societys
professional development programs. To qualify, candidates must complete
their courses as follows:
1.
Upon the partial completion of any undergraduate professional development
program of at least 7
(seven) or more courses, the award of a certificate and transcript.
2. Upon the partial completion of any undergraduate professional development
program of at least 14
courses or more but less than 20, a diploma and transcript.
3. Diplomas are suitably endorsed to indicate the field of study as well
as transcripts issued according
to normal standard practice.
4. All Society professional development courses are at university degree
level standard, but does not
necessarily conform to the syllabuses or conditions required by schools
or colleges in a similar field of
study.
5. Students may study single subjects or part of programs as required
complimenting their present
level of knowledge or skills.
6. For single subject courses, the Society issues a certificate and transcript
as required.
7. For partial completed undergraduate diploma programs with more than
20 courses, students will
receive an Advanced Diploma but the transcript will indicate it is a partial
completed program and
indicate the completed work in the usual format.
8. After the completion of any diploma program, the Society issues the
diploma and transcript
accordingly.
IMPORTANT: The usual examination standards
applicable to university related studies are also
applicable to the Society's professional development programs.

4. Withdrawal
from the Program
Students
may settle the entire course fees or arrange to pay in installments. At
least 20% of the
course fees are payable when they enroll. Payment can be made by means
of a check, draft,
electronic transfer or credit card.
When
students wish to withdraw, the withdrawal terms and conditions applicable
to the country
of the student shall apply.

5. Assignments
and Practical Requirements
5.1 General Requirements
The deputy Course Director must ensure that students complete the
sections needed for each
course as stipulated in the syllabuses for the appropriate course. Appropriate
exercises and
methods to evaluate students performances must be prepared and completed
during the course
of study by the campus center. For each student the center must provide
final mark indicating the
students performance for the completion of any tests during the
course of study.
The Course Director requires a pass mark of at least 70%
for each student before students can
sit the appropriate examination for a particular course.

5.2 Examinations
Examinations are prepared by the Society and forwarded to the university
/ examination center
for their record, who will where applicable directly forward it to the
deputy course director.
Campus learning centers / examination centers must observe the examination
requirements and
instructions for EACH course as set by the course director.
The campus-learning center must communicate to the university dates and
details for which
courses they require examination papers. Each examination paper must be
opened in the presence
of the examination candidates and handed to them according to the set
instructions applicable to
each examination.
The examination papers for each student must be countersigned by the deputy
course director and
stamped with the centers seal or stamp, and forwarded in a sealed
envelope to the Society for
marking. Marking of the papers will be done by the Society and the course
director will ensure that
the appropriate staff involved will be assigned to complete the task.
No examination papers shall be
returned to the center after marking.
Prior to the commencement of the examination, each candidate shall sign
an examination attendance
form, duly countersigned by the deputy course director, and included amongst
the scripts to be forwar-
ded to the course director.
5.3 Assignments and Practical Work
Where assignments are set, as well as practical requirements, the
completed assignments shall be
accompanied with the required fieldwork report duly completed and signed
by the involved parties.
Assignments are set as below for each course as well as fieldwork in each
case, where required.
The deputy course director must ensure that students perform these requirements
as set by each
assignment and practical assignments. Also that documentation, employers
and similar organizations
with facilities for the acceptance, assistance and supervision of students
are willing to accommodate
students as appropriate.
5.4 Reports and Additional Information
Campus learning centers through the co-operation of the assigned deputy
course directors will compile
any additional reports, remarks or provide information as required to
all parties involved. At all time any
information to ensure that the process of education is duly followed,
that may help the student and the
university / study center, must be communicated to the course director
through the university / study
center, for record or action as required.
5.5 Examination Results
The course director will communicate examination results to the university
/ study center / examination
center. Upon completion of the required course or courses, the students
file will be updated and a
similar file system must be held at the campus learning center / study
center as well as appropriate
records at the Society.
5.6 Course Program Completion
Upon the completion of the entire program, the campus- learning center
/ study center will notify the
Society that the student is ready to complete the Senior Seminar (thesis/project)
requirement for the
program. The student may select three areas of his or her choice for this
requirement. The final decision
which area to be presented will be taken by the course director.
Upon the acceptance of the final senior seminar thesis project, the course
director will notify the
campus-learning center / study center about the successful completion
of the program by the student.
The Society, through the campus-learning center, will arrange for the
graduation after the settlement
of any dues.

6. Study Aids, Textbooks and Materials
The syllabuses for each course are based on the various textbooks
prescribed for each course. In case
of changes, the unavailability of textbooks or any other materials, the
course director reserves the right
to amend or change as required.
The course director shall communicate any additional material, examination
materials or similar require-
ment to each center. Campus learning centers/ study centers may petition
or request to the course
director to use alternative textbooks or materials if they cannot find
or do not have the prescribed mate-
rials for the course.
The Course director has the final authority over any action and any deviation
from any set work or pre-
scribed materials for each course.

7. Campus-Learning or Study Centre Fees
Any fees payable for services to the students, examination fees, proctoring
fees or any other dues pay-
able to the center or the proctoring company is the responsibility of
the student.

8. Communications
Each
campus-learning / study center shall communicate and report on each students
progress at
regular intervals. If any student withdraw for the program the Society
shall be notified and the appro-
priate information communicated to the course director. The course director
will likewise communicate
to the center similarly at regular interval regarding the progress in
each case.

9.
Independent Distant Learning Students
These
students can either directly communicate to the course director, and or
where there is a campus
learning / study center nearby, arrange for assistance or any similar
study requirements. Communica-
ting with the Society can be through e-mail, fax or ordinary mail.
Where applicable, examinations will be adapted or the requirements to
ensure that distance learning
independent students are accommodated in the most efficient manner. Where
proctoring is required,
students must nominate any person willing to act as a proctor or where
applicable, proctoring examina-
tion centers must be contacted. Any fees or compensation for services
rendered for proctoring must be
arranged and settled by the student.

Courses and Study Requirements
The
courses listed must be completed in the sequence they are listed. Compulsory
courses are listed
first and must be studied in that order. Students must study the electives
selected by them as listed in
sequence and study only the electives they have selected in each case.
Campus-learning
/ study center instructors and deputy course directors must ensure that
students study
each section of the textbook from its beginning till they have completed
the entire textbook. Only then
can they start to work on the practical assignments.
Where more than one student is enrolled for the same course, they may
work together to gather infor-
mation and to complete these assignments. Students can also decide to
work in groups and gather
information on only some of the topics while others do the same. However,
the compilation and put-
ting together of the information must be each students own and independent
work. In some cases,
some onsite research-work or visits to organizations, libraries and industries
may be necessary to
perform these tasks.
